Tried WD-40 and some special penetrating oil. Didn't try a torch because the recessed wall fixture the faucets fit through is plastic, but I'm going to have to deal with that to sweat on new faucets.

Thinking about cutting open a soda can to use as a shield to protect the plastic when I sweat new faucets.

Not sure, but the old hoses may have been over 30 years old, which is no doubt why the connectors were fused with the faucets.

Recommended lifespan for washer hoses is 5-7 years. Presumably, if you replace the hoses in a timely fashion, the problem I had won't develop.
