When I was in Basic training at Lackland AFB in the early '70s, we had off-base liberty one day. We took the bus to San Antonio to visit the Alamo because it was pretty famous for all of us growing up. We walked along the street looking for it but ended up having to ask a local where it was. We had gone by it a few minutes ago without noticing it. Its legend had blown it up in our minds so much we were looking for a building the size of an English castle or something like that.
