I must vehemently disagree with you. Volker's fiscal policy was diabolical at best and outright fiscally sadistic at worst. Fighting inflation by hiking interest rates sometime two or more percentage points at a time was an obscene and idiotic way to tamper inflation. I call it throwing the baby out with the bath water. I'm speaking as someone who lived through Volker's era and witnessed the carnage he wrought. To have him now criticize the economic miracle initiated by President Trump is truly perverse Fuck him.
