I'm not running a stock store at my website. It is my personal file which I've chosen to open to the public. If it helps you, great. If not, it doesn't matter. I'm doing it because I want to, not for profit. In another matter, someone e-mailed me about the Business Week article that mentioned me a couple years ago. Below is my response to him. I know this subject is getting a little old, but since elk has been going to other boards in an attempt to discredit me, I find it appropriate to post this here: ************** In a message dated 98-01-16 02:53:09 EST, you write: << What has been added to that mixture in Motley Fool are alarmist comments, both positive and negative. In February, a Fool forum participant with the handle VALUESPEC posted a public message saying that a ''very bullish'' announcement would come in the ''not-too-distant'' future. In March, the same author wrote that ''MCI might be interested in'' Diana. The posters of these messages, who would not respond to E-mail queries from BUSINESS WEEK, are anonymous AOL subscribers. VALUESPEC describes him- or herself in a member profile as a 34-year-old owner of a landscaping business, while Duke121 will only disclose her gender and marital status. Sometimes the online leads are correct, sometimes not. Diana did announce a major deal to sell 21 switches in May, which helped its stock rise even further. But no MCI Communications Corp. interest has materialized. ''I think the Motley Fool postings have definitely helped drive Diana through the stratosphere,'' says Richard Keim, whose Keim Wilson Associates has a short position in the stock. >> Beel, maybe you should read this again. There are probably two things that are escaping your attention about this article: 1) I was right about the major deal. Read the second paragraph. It says, "Diana did announce a major deal to sell 21 switches in May, which helped its stock rise even further". Also, see how it says no MCI deal materialized? I said it was rumored to be MCI. It wasn't. It was another major deal instead. Where was I wrong? 2) If you re-read the first paragraph, you'll read, "I think the Motley Fool postings have definitely helped drive Diana through the stratosphere". Do you really think it was my posts that drove Dianna through the stratosphere? It was rising 4-5 points a day almost from the first time I posted. More likely, it was a group of brokers working in tandem. Business Week was sensationalizing the story. So what if I had a successful landscaping business? So what if I didn't interview with them? They are just innuendos. That information doesn't say anything incriminating. Why should I have interviewed with them? I had nothing to say (I believe they e-mailed me once). All my information was from my ex-broker! I wasn't hiding what my occupation was at the time, nor was I hiding where I heard about DNA from. I posted when I bought, and that I bought based on my broker's recommendation. I sold DNA when the news stopped flowing and the price began to fall under $ 100 per share. I posted when I sold and why, just as I had when I bought. I was beginning to get suspicious about the stock because things weren't working out quite as I expected. I was still expecting more news that wasn't coming. Also, a big New-York Shorter called Arsensio, was posting voraciously that DNA was going to go back to $ 5 per share. I decided to sell. Arsensio was right. I was wrong. In my opinion, this article does nothing but show that my judgement was good in getting in and in getting out on DNA (I told my broker I wanted out when it kept falling). It was good because I bought before the major deal was announced, and I sold when things got fishier and fishier. I might also add that a private placement was made in DNA @ about $ 36 per share shortly after I bought @ $ 23. Things were happening fast, and I had every reason, at the time, to believe DNA was not a scam. How many stocks have others touted in which the story never materialized? DNA was one of the best performers in the entire stock market at the time and I was there. Think about it. Should I be praised for persecuted for that? I now have a lot of SKYC. If that does well this year, should I be praised or persecuted for that? After all, I have been posting about SKYC on the AOL Motley Fool bulletin board, etc. ! . . . and that was a plug for SKYC. The downside is about $ 6.00, IMO. Upside? SKYC: $ 9.37b $ 9.62a (bought a lot- for me - just above $ 7 a few weeks ago) FTEL: $ 5.69b $ 5.84a ******************** VALUESPEC valuespec.com
