I had one of those collapsible hoses you buy on TV.....thought it would be good to have it under the kitchen sink.

Used it a few times and the last time I didn't turn the valve 100%....maybe 98%

this little bit of pressure caused the hose to burst in the wee hours.

of course that 2% was not unlike a full open valve.

THe hose poured into the kitchen for maybe 4 to 6 hours.

Since I was remodeling there were a few holes in the floor where hot water baseboard heaters were removed.....the water didn't flood the 1st floor as the couple of holes allowed a drain.

But the basement was like a swimming pool.

Floor drains in the basement could not handle the volume.

A shop vac with a hose for pumping drained the mess in about an hour.

Now I keep the nozzle of the hose open after I turn off the valve.
