Sorin, this stock manipulation had been mentioned a lot in SI. But there is a logical explanation for it. On the option expiration day, if the open interest is comparable to that day's volume, the stock tend to close at the point which equal number of puts and calls can be excised since most of option player do not want to hold on a permanent positions.

I think the weakness may have something to do with a broker saying that he expects Micron Technology to be around $20 soon and it's currently trading around $29.
