Well, it's at least a step in the right direction.

I'd love to be able to play Apeiron X, a fun Mac clone of Centipede, from the defunct shareware company Ambrosia Software. Their main web server still appears to be up most of the time, but when trying to play the game it requires me to "renew" my license code, and that server appears to be down. So, it's a case where trying to play the game in an emulator would make no difference.

While I believe Apeiron was mildly popular back in the day, it has a few things working against it for ever being updated or made to work again. For one, it's a Mac program and the Macintosh was never a big gaming platform. A Windows version was never made. Two, while I think Apeiron was at least mildly successful, I doubt it was ever a huge seller.
