jim, WARNING: ON TOPIC POST. Alex Brown says sell, Schroder says buy, Mike says "surf's up, catch a wave, hawked the '48 Merc last week, today the beloved Hobie board, more @46 5/8". Check it out dudes: WSJ reports that LU just got the nod for $100MM to build PCS networks for several wireless carriers in California, Georgia, and South Carolina for, and I quote, "Lucent's digital system, which uses a platform known as 'code division multiple access', or CDMA". One hundred big ones ain't grocery money and last I checked California, Georgia, and SC are a tad removed from SEA. Next, recommend y'all mosey on over to the ANDW board and check out a few posts there re: today's conference call. Summary is ANDW made their numbers with a few cents to spare, stock's up a point or two, and their CEO says main strength is wireless buildout going on worldwide and particularly noted surging demand in China, Brazil, and elsewhere in Latin America. Very bullish on '98 and expects continued INCREASES from SEA. For those of you who don't follow ANDW--these guys are real conservative folks who never, ever blow smoke. They are a great way to monitor wireless infrastructure build out cause they supply all the nuts and bolts (dishes, cable, microwave towers, and the like) and do business around the globe. Not anywhere near as sexy as the Mighty Q, but when Floyd English says the factories are humming, you can take it to the bank. I confess that it bothers me a mite that Alex Cena does a pre-earnings downgrade this AM but it bothered me even more that I couldn't get through on e-schwab to catch the Q @45 (congratulations JLF!) Anyway Cena has bombed us before and then recanted. So tough taters Alex--Surfer Mike will keep writing checks as long as you want to sell in the 40's. Regards, Mike Doyle
