Patrick, I guess i do sound kind of negative concerning Teligent. The whole thing just doesn't make any sense to me. However, its probably not too much worse than WCII being right at current levels in what was it, April 96? How many switches, customers, etc does Teligent have? Plus they don't have anywhere near the sprectrum that WinStar has-not to mention that the spectrum they do have is subject to question right now. One news article a couple weeks back said TGNT's (OK I'll leave the bs off) 1997 revenue was about 1 million. Below is the Yahoo profile. In my view, it will take TGNT at least 3 years to get where WCII is now. As a disclaimer, let me state for the record that i am a blind as a bat, dyed in the wool, WinStar bull.
Business Summary
TGNT, a development stage company, is a provider of high quality, low cost voice, data and video telecommunications services primarily to small and medium sized business. For the nine months ended 9/97, revenues totalled $2.9 million. Net loss totalled $76.6 million. Revenues reflect sales generated from services provided to MSI and DSC. Loss reflects a $51.9 million non-cash charge associated with appreciation rights, and payroll and consulting costs related to the commencement of operations.
