Intel's recent Q report indicates that their revs from ethernet switches increased quite a bit. It could mean that the market increased for those products or it took away business from 3COM. The latter is more probable considering 3COM said the growth in 1997 for networkers was only 15%. It it is indeed latter it may not portend well for the future.

Any thoughts? >> Yes, I have some thoughts. First of all this is why COMS is retreating from it's highs this morning. Nice job pointing it out. Second, we will be seeing a lot more of these types of press releases in 1998 from behemoths like INTC, CPQ, LU, and NT. I don't think it will do anything to help out COMS stock price.
