What made Roseanne popular in the resuscitation of the original was that Roseanne “appeared” to be Pro-Trump and center right. That made it the only show on TV that made an attempt to engage the other half of America and people tuned in to see what would be said. The first couple of episodes vaguely hinted at a right leaning show but that disappeared quickly. None of the other actors have a strong enough presence to carry any show, even if it had outstanding writing. That’s why stars are called stars - they have star power. You can’t take a cast of D-listers and expect them to carry a series. You can bet that those who made the decision to can Roseanne are no longer working at ABC.
