Alan: You forgot that the stock made it to $5 last March, during the "time of Pluvia" on this thread. That was when the Lundin's were acquiring their own case of Arakititis. Didn't stay there long, though.

Oil contracts worth of $ 1.2 billion in Sudan, News Article by ArabicNews.Com on January 18, 1998 at 16:59:17

The Sudanese government signed contracts with companies from China, Argentina, and the UK worth $ 1.2 billion to implement a large project to extract and export oil from two oil fields in Sudan.

The contracts represent the last phase of a project to export Sudanese oil which started with setting up an oil pipeline and a loading port in addition to setting up facilities for oil storage extracted from the wells in the two fields of Magaly and Al Wehda.

The winning companies were chosen from 23 companies that submitted offers to participate in the pipeline project, which is financed by an international group excavating oil in Sudan.

The construction and supply contracts, worth $850 million, included two separate contracts won by the Chinese Oil Company for Engineering Construction which will set up the facilities used for oil storage. It will also extend an oil pipeline from the Emtiaz area to the exporting port.
