Looks like Kurlak (from MERRILL) comes on CNBC before the open...

and says MU is over priced and going back to 20. Well... 15 minutes into trading and MU=29 1/8 down 2 3/8.

Who ever said that Cymer traded down at the close yesterday because of the options was probably right on the money.

Aloha

Good questions Wayne. Has SVGI had its Conference call, and if so, were teh number of Micrascan II sales discussed? Projected Micrascan II sales?

Wayne,

RE:I was wondering why the other manufacturers will opt for DUV light
sources instead of going the way of Intel?

Lack of throughput, not many have used Micrascan II+s to develop their processes, and inability of SVGI to deliver high volumes of product are three reasons why you won't see other manufacturers going the Intel route.

DUV the tip of the iceburg, a picture worth a thousand words.

sciam.com

As you have pointed out, chip manufactures have squeezed the last uM out of the i-line lithography process. By the same token I think it is a reasonable hypothesis that the same will occur for DUV. Extending it beyond 2000 and ? Cymer is out of the gate first with a great product. Competition is there and Cymer's customers would like a second source.

The company / industry analogy that best describes Cymer's position is much like Intel's. Granted Cymer's market will never approach the scale of INTC's but Cymer has an opportunity to dominate its market in a similiar manner and reap the rewards.

I've been in Cymer since Nov. 96, the past 4 months have not been enjoyable but I have to remind myself of the big picture.

Regards,

Denis
