Orion commenced construction of Orion 2 in February 1997 under a satellite procurement contract with Matra Marconi Space. Orion commenced construction of Orion 3 in December 1996 under a satellite procurement contract with Hughes Space and Communications International, Inc.

jim, I would recommend that you get a copy of a six page report dated 11/20/97 issued by CIBC Openheimer "Loral Reviews Strategy With Investors" principally authored by Lior Bregman. LOR has, until very recently, suffered from a lack of visibility on Wall Street meaning that very few analysts either follow or understand (or both) the company and its prospects. Bregman is one of the very few analysts who knows what's going on in the satellite biz and his report is well worth reading. Warning: he is very bullish and this report could cause hyperventillation! :) Regards, Mike Doyle
