Well this is not news after all, dell runs up before earnings before earnings, then take a dip after earnings are announced. The reason for the runup is because of fools thinking they will crush earnings every time, common, the PE on Dell is close to 40, and all the fuckin do is sell PCS over the phone, Now everybodyelse does the same......even compuware makes build to order PCS......and if you really believe in dell then I suggest you take some puts to cover your ass.........And besides Compaq has a lot of cash, and better managment, Mike dell is an idiot, the best idea he came up with in the last few months is purchasing shares back.....and you know what that tells me, he has nothing better to do with the money....Compaq bought tandem, and they will buy at least two more companies in 98, they are putting together a services department, and are using their low cost PCS to grap market share.......Sub 1000 PCS are 40% of PCS sold and compaq got close to 70 % of that....they are into networking, they got microsoft in trouble, and ticked off intel by using AMD.....Well folks compaq managment are not stupid, they Know what they are doing, and they have something up their sleeve, I can sense it and smell it.....ad they will beat earnings and shock everybody...
