It’s Going to Be a Blast in Cape Girardeau Tonight!

rushlimbaugh.com

RUSH: Oh, man, my friends, I am so excited to be here today. I’m so excited to be here each and every day, but really, really excited to be here this week. It’s gonna be big. It’s not known what’s going to happen. We’re gonna go through some of the audio sound bites today of people who’ve been doing the polls all up to now. The day before the election, they are covering themselves by saying, “We don’t really know.” So what did all these polls mean last week, then? And what did they mean last month?

And what did the generic ballot polls mean starting last December, last January? What did it all mean? I’ll tell you what it meant: Nothing. Except for two things: They were using the polling data to shape public opinion and probably fundraise. Those would be the two primary values of early polling. But they tell you nothing about the outcome of any event, particularly that far out because the events that are gonna shape election haven’t happened.

But now a lot of stuff has. I want to start with two things today before we get to the polling data — and we’ve got time to squeeze it all in here today, three hours. And, yes, I have accepted an invitation from the White House to join President Trump tonight in my hometown of Cape Girardeau. It’s the closing argument, final rally. It’s at 9 o’clock Central Time, 10 o’clock Eastern in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

I’m excited. I’m looking forward to it. I have… You know, I’ve sworn off of these kinds of things some time ago, but they asked — they were very persuasive — and I’m actually thrilled to be there. Lee Greenwood is going to be there tonight. Sean Hannity is in town. He’ll be interviewing President Trump today. So it’s gonna be a blast. It’s gonna be a fabulous time.

They’ve given me a time frame in which to speak, which — I’m just telling you right now — it will be impossible for me to be constrained by this time frame, and I don’t think anybody’s gonna grab the hook in my hometown. But, just in case, I’m gonna do everything I can to keep it to the limit. But I’m not gonna tell you what the limit is. (interruption) No. Nobody’s ever grabbed the hook. Not that they haven’t wanted to, but nobody has ever grabbed the hook.

So I’m looking forward to that.

This is a big day.

Le Pen party overtakes Macron in EU Election Poll

President Macron’s approval rating hits all time low.

Marine Le Pen’s right-wing National Rally has overtaken French President Emmanuel Macron’s En Marche for the first time ahead of the next year’s EU Parliament elections. The latest poll numbers place France’s ruling centrist En Marche party at 19 percent, and the newly constituted National Rally — formerly the Front National — at 20 percent.

Together with other smaller parties, France’s nationalist bloc now has a combined support of 30 percent, a nine-percentage-point edge over President Macron’s En Marche, polling agency Ifop projects.

France’s ruling party’s plummeting poll numbers are linked to President Macron’s own dismal approval rating. Last week’s YouGov poll showed his popularity dropping to its lowest level since he took office eighteen months ago, with only 21 percent of the French voters supporting him. A series of high-profile scandals surrounding the presidency, along with highyouth unemployment and rising cost of living have fueled popular discontent against the Macron administration.

French broadcaster EuroNews reported the latest polling results:

Marine Le Pen’s Rassemblement National (RN) has overtaken French president Emmanuel Macron’s La République En Marche! (LREM) party in an independent poll.

Polling agency Ifop asked 1,000 people how they would vote if the EU elections were held today.

It showed the RN rising from 17% at the end of August to 21% now, moving ahead of the LREM, on 20%, for the first time.

The RN’s 21%, together with the 7% of Nicolas Dupont-Aignan’s Debout La France (Stand up France) party and 1% each for Florian Philippot’s Les Patriotes and François Asselineau’s pro-“Frexit” Popular Republican Union gave 30% to far-right parties combined.

Le Pen’s surge in polls comes weeks after her National Rally formed a “Freedom Front” electoral alliance with Italy’s ruling Lega party. Hungarian prime minister, Viktor Orbán, has also pledged his support to Le Pen’s anti-EU alliance.

In the current EU parliament, of the 751 seats, Le Pen-led parliamentary group the Europe of Nations and Freedom (ENP) has close to 30 members. The combined strength of right-wing parties critical of Brussels is estimated around 200 parliamentarians.

So far, the European political landscape has been dominated by pro-establishment conservatives — spearheaded by German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s Christian Democratic bloc — or the equally pro-EU Socialist parties. This election cycle, the EU ruling elite face stiff electoral challenge from anti-establishment parties from the right and left. Recent elections have seen the emergence of nationalist parties across the continent, with Germany’s AfD, Austria’s Freedom Party and Italy’s Lega managing to pull large number of voters away from the mainstream parties.
