To add search "strings", and other detection/identification and disinfection data. The name is, well...mostly irrelevant - after all, anti-virus producers do not agree on the names of the majority of existing viruses.

Herb, to further Fridik's explanation of search strings, anti-virus companies typically refer to updating your virus profiles not really the names themselves. Your virus profile database will be updated to include variants on established strings of code which fit a common profile of wreaking computer mayhem. That's why &#147McAfee asks you to update their virus scan data periodically&#148

Herb, a neat trick I found...

As Navigator is loading a Web site, you can quickly check the status of your network sockets by pressing [Ctrl][Alt]T. When you do, Navigator will continue to load the site as it displays a message box containing the following information:

* # of URLs waiting for an open socket
* # of URLs waiting for fewer active URLs
* # of open connections
* # of active URLs
