Lou and all,

It seems that Robert Finocchio has been very quiet lately. From
late last Summer, he has written a monthly update letter to shareholders, customers and employees. Yet, he hasn't done one of these letters since Nov. 19th.

I don't know if this is significant, but it seems to me that Bob is a very consistant person. Once he starts something, he continues it. Why
has he stopped giving these monthly reports?

Just an observation for all us to ponder. One possibility is that Bob doesn't want to tip off the competition as to Informix's improving state. However, one would think that a monthly letter would continue to allay customer fears which I think is more important than tipping off the competition. Maybe he doesn't think they are necessary anymore. Maybe nothing has changed from Nov 19th. The point is that he has changed something he had routinely done. In the midst of zero news, maybe this is significant. As to what it means, I have no idea.

Anyone have any opinions.

Jeff Bertrand

ps. My overall gut feeling is that the report in February is going to be better than expected.

Note that this was the last portion of a three-part list of software companies (informix near bottom of a much larger list). Ratings were on scale of 1-5, with microsoft (of course) at the top. Each page of upside.com includes a microsoft advertisment gif. Coincidentally the author is an NT-lo-maniac.
