They don't need a real reason.
They do if they want any other vote besides that of their own rabid base.

Or if they're actually worried about setting a precedent. Because if they aren't, they will essentially turn the impeachment process into a coup d'etat.

No politician wants to invoke a constitutional crisis. Not even Maxine "Harass 'em" Waters. She's too chickenshit to do that.
