The best meals I ever had was 1989 when my three friends / partners and I were essentially stranded w/ few cash in a little Philippine’s town where the infrastructure for credit card payment was non-existent. The stranding was due to typhoon and we were on ferry that had to seek shelter. The stranding lasted 3 days and ... We shared one hostel room, bunk beds.
