The latest sampling also yielded 7.94 grams of gold and 1,265 grams of silver per tonne from the AGB zone and 12.05 grams of gold and 7.88 grams of silver per tonne from the Silver Pond North zone. The grades were less than those found earlier this year from the Phoenix zone, where rock samples assayed as high as 220 grams of gold and over 10,000 grams of silver per tonne, and from Dukes Ridge, which produced 23.1 grams of gold and 5,370 grams of silver per tonne. Benchmark began drilling at Phoenix and Dukes Ridge in mid-September, beneath the sites that yielded those bonanza grades, and the assays from that work are expected shortly. Now, Mr. Williamson, chief executive officer, says that the discovery of widespread mineralization across the entire Lawyers project is providing compelling evidence of zones that extend for hundreds of metres at surface. He points to Marmot as a priority target for a larger 2019 drill program, while the AGB zone sampling suggests that there is a large area of mineralization that was never fully mined. The Edmonton-based Mr. Williamson became CEO in March, when Mr. Greig gave up one of his two titles. Mr. Greig, of Vancouver, continues as the company's president. He had been earning $144,000 per year prior to Mr. Williamson's arrival and he may still be drawing a hefty salary, as Howe Streeters are quick to give themselves raises when they take on extra work but are reluctant to take a pay cut when they give up some responsibilities. Indeed, Benchmark paid its president, CEO and chief financial officer a total of $212,000 for the first half of fiscal 2019, compared with just $72,000 in the same period a year ago.
