Wharfie,
Cost? How much have we spent so far on sun and wind?
How much more do you want to spend on sources of power that aren't very good, just because they're "renewable"?
Land? We have plenty of roofs and parking lots which can be covered.
It's not a question of how much land we have. Obviously we have plenty.

Rather, the question is how many solar panels and windmills need to be built and maintained, along with its associated infrastructure.

Kind of silly to have to drive around maintaining tens of thousands of windmills when you can produce just as much energy out of one nuclear power plant.
