Srivaths, I cannot answer your questions about the QCOM/NT Alliance. Like most other living soles, I have no details.

I can say NT and QCOM work(ed) together on the development of CDMA infrastructure equipment under a technology sharing arrangement. This is public knowledge touted by both companies. I assume they will both share in the rewards of that effort. However, I can only speculate about the rewards.

I believe the agreement gave Qualcomm access to Nortel switching technology and it gave Nortel access to Qualcomm CDMA technology. Didn't Sprint PCS install Qualcomm base stations and controllers under a Nortel contract? Please correct me if I am wrong.

NT manufactures tons of wireless equipment in Calgary, Alberta. Maybe, someone from that area can add insight. I am sure there are others on this thread who could also enlighten us, if they so desire.

I would be surprised if NT didn't have strategic alliances with QCOM competitors. Do you know of any?
