Only avid skiers know how remarkably different snow is in different climates! There really needs to be different words for it.

Yup; there is their snow, which I enjoy looking at on TV, and there is my snow, which is cold and wet, and might trap me, forcing me to choose between eating my dawg or starving to death.

Loved snow when I first moved from Texas to the northeast--New Haven. Would stand outside for far too long. Loved to drive in it. And so on.

Now my teeth grind at reports of snow, let alone it's arrival.
