You're correct about financing companies...they are frequently used...also LU, NT sometimes take positions in companies they are funding....QCOM does the same... As for the 5Mhz channel comment, it is the competing CDMA alternative for the 3rd generation system. It is being backed by ERICY most notably...some other telco companies have jumped on with them to hedge themselves....IS-95 CDMA is separated into 1.25 Mhz channels.... You can find an article at cdg.org that talks about the two versions and how they differ..... Dan Ross
