You're posting this to the guy who booked time off work and made plans to be in FL when Floyd touches down...I was so disappointed when it changed course. Photos of lighthouses in storm are among my favorites. If I could afford it, I'd buy one or two of them (the lighthouse, not the pictures ;).

That was heavy-lol. I have experienced that on the 216 foot miller Freeman working with a crew of scientists in the Bearing sea for six weeks assessing crab populations and species. We found a hybred between opilio and bardi , the larger tanner crab. One of my best jobs ever-lol. We had all the king crab and tanner crab we could eat-lol. I was 26 and all I did all day was check out an otter trawl when they pulled up specimens from 600 feet. About once and hour. I had to do some basic data entry and throw the fish back in-lol. We got cod, halibut up to 35lbs, and lots of flat fish and pollack. It was so fun and i had my own room and three meals a day and they paid me-lol. That is one reason I returned. No competition for great obs-lo.. Oh and I integrated the pinochle game. There were scientists, fisherman and waiter types,cooks room cleaners, mostly people of color. The Norwegian fisherman out of Petersberg were racist and would not let the blacks play. But I was with the scientific crew and we had top status, so they let me play. The African Americans would hang around the door wanting to play. So one day I got up and said i had to leave and how about letting Cleon take my place-lol.
