I agree with your position on the "drug war" but can't understand why liberals don't apply the same standards, in their support of personal freedoms, to the business world and free market. The converse is true.

Well, there is this issue of the constitution, which doesn't say much about the rights of business but says plenty about individual rights. Where, exactly, do you guys see anything like the Libertarian/Objectivist business utopia in practice? Where does business have a freer hand than in the U.S.? As far as Sherman goes, the political process is open to everyone, and by everything I see it's weighted plenty enough toward business the way it is.

Cheers, Dan.

James -

I'm with him 100% as an investor and ideologue of the libertarian bent.

I suggest you look up the word coersion, and find out how libertarians feel about it.

While I agree with your assesment of conservatives here, I feel you're applying too much of the MSFT case to liberal politics. The complaint against MSFT has much more to do with their actual lying and unfair and coercive practices than it does politics.

Us bleeding hearts just happen to put personal freedoms ahead of the business world "freedom" because it is usually that "persons" freedom they really want. Bill should have the freedom to put businesses and their employees out of work. That is the American way. I guess we just want to protect the ignorance smucks from the greedy, back-stabbing slime balls that rule the world.

Looks like we need to add MO to the list that Rush lovers invest in. Wish we could go back to the good ole sweat shop days and put your ass on the line. It's the laissez faire way.
