I don't know why you'd reach that conclusion. I said my typical driving is usually without incident. I didn't "jump through hoops" for the discount. I don't drive a lot in the first place, but the amount of miles didn't enter into the equation. Hard braking, if it shows up on the device, would suggest to them that you're either driving too fast or following too close, and doing so often enough that the frequency would exceed what they consider normal. It's unlikely that "normal" is anything other than pretty rare. My hard braking incidents were ALL caused by reaching a yellow light a second or so at the wrong time. I don't try to beat a yellow light, so that caused about 4 incidents over the 6 month period. I had no other recorded incidents. If you typically drive hard and fast, the discount would probably not be available to you. In that case you simply pay the regular rate. The discount was very easy to achieve.
