Holly:

<I was telling a friend just he other day that only in California would the state of the weather consistently be the lead story in the newspapers and on television news reports.>

Its a diversionary tactic by the popular press to focus attention away from the shennanigans being played out in Sacramento.

holly,

I "climb out of my cavern" on the weekends and try not to go near a computer or I would've responded sooner.

One last thought (maybe) about the children. Although I can't remember the age group they targeted, most children who are going to
try smoking have either done it by that age or will shortly thereafter. This, of course, is very flawed reasoning if a debate were to "pop up" as to why our benevolent Uncle Sammy should focus his attention to more critical areas of concern (regardless of what level of government we focus on.)

It's as if our government was like a baby when it was formed. The parents had such great aspirations for him/her...become the all American kid. In reality it's turning out to be an overweight, spineless whimp who occassionaly turns on its own because of its own feeling of inadequacies...(i.e. smoking in bars and cars, etc.) I don't "hate" our government...it just sometimes makes me tired.

Whoa...gotta' go..another meeting :-(
