Electric,

You have an excellant point, and your illustration of the SPX is the main reason why I don't play it. The premiums are very high and the the returns are relatively very low. One benefit to it is that it is a broad base index, but thats about it.

There are many other indexes to play which returns are much better as compared to the premium. It takes more work to find these indexes just as it is to find an individual stock.

That's one of benefits of my GUITAR which helps me decide which index to play. So far I have played 13 different indexes, and some are better than others. I have noticed that the OEX is the hardest to make money from due to its relatively smaller oscillations.

I agree that one way to play the OEX,SPX is to go deep in the money, but another way is to pick another index which better fits the environment.

Right now my only position is XAL FEB 690 PUTS, which I obtained today when the index was at 688.

Seeya

" SO, why not move out to the suburbs and enjoy the benefits:

38 FEB875 97 88 3/8 + 8 5/8
39 FEB895 78 71 7/8 + 6 1/8
40+FEB900 74 1/4 66 5/8 + 7 5/8
41+FEB910 63 60 1/8 + 2 7/8
42+FEB920 53 52 5/8 + 3/8
43+FEB925 52 49 1/8 + 2 7/8
44+FEB930 47 44 7/8 + 2 1/8"

I dont have a clue what you mean here.

Are you saying these are overvalued by this amount and so one should trade these. Notice how these are all the expensive ones and us peons need those that have the - sign attached...coincidence?

If that is what you are saying...I understand the concept of the ones being undervalued....but the ones with the + sign can get stripped...
and werent we talking about this awhile ago and not buying the overvalued ones.

I am lost as usual

got to start watching my baby TBR....I need to think about some of my old comfortable friends to soothe my soul
