Oh do I love this game even more each day. This has been an incredible week ... filled with success! And I have been waiting for anyone to catch wind of this ... the web page was posted several days ago, and already Microsoft has toned down the initial version!

As I posted several days ago, you are looking at individual trees, and are failing to see the forest. You are refusing to recognize what we are all watching ... in my opinion Microsoft is quickly digging trenches in an extremely defensive posture. First, they decide to allow customers to blow off the upgrade to NT v4.x ... now they refuse to support customers deploying a superior technology that is available today!

You stated:

It appears to me they are losing their grip! That's why they are caving to pressure from customers. That's why they are giving up revenue that they were demanding from customers. That's why they are trying to eliminate all competition by refusing support ... they have recognized that they can't give the customer what they want, in the time frame that they need it. They have no offense, so it's time to send in the defense ... but defense rarely puts points on the board.

They are trying to buy time!

I'm not sure that my perspective agrees with your predictions. I think that Microsoft has just made a major error in judgement.

My question to customers, and to any of you out there, is:

Do you really honestly trust any vendor that will break products, or refuse support, to purposely deny you the ability to have the best, most cost effective solution for your business?

Do you really feel good about betting the future of your business or corporation on a vendor that does this because they are unable to deliver on promises that they have been making for a long time?

Do you feel comfortable allowing a vendor to make all of your future technology and computing decisions by deciding for you, using these methods? Picking and choosing the "proper" vendors for you ...

Well ... I think that's it for now ... except that I would suggest that you stay tuned ... this is not even close to over.

Who? How? I'm afraid that I understand what you are insinuating, but I don't agree with your analysis.

P.S. I'm wondering ... what is the definition of "anti-competitive" or "anti-trust" ... does anyone know what might fall into this category?
