HMTT investors, here's an excerpt from Herb "I hate anything to do with Iomega" Greenberg's column today:

HMT HOTLINE

Fremont-based HMT Technology's execs were upbeat about the company's prospects during a conference call with analysts late Wednesday. The company, which
makes disks for computer disk drives, had just reported record earnings. Why, then, did several analysts shave their earnings estimates yesterday? Could it be that after the conference call, HMT execs phoned several analysts, suggesting that gross margins and sales in the current quarter might not quite be what they were expecting?

Maybe HMT just didn't want to feel the verbal wrath of investors who five months ago paid $14.50 per share for 10 million of its shares. Yesterday, HMT's stock slid 81 cents, or 7 percent, to close at $11.25.

Selective disclosure, anyone? HMT officials didn't return several calls.
