Aren't there financial risks in using some of these discount brokers? Sort of like using a subzero PC? How do you check out their financial reliability before entrusting your money to them? Are they insured in case they go broke? Don't intend to sound smart aleck. I have thought about moving to a deep discount house for on line trades, but have real concerns about who has my hard earned money in their account.

PS I am not a broker.

That does good but I am pretty happy now and I am sure am tired of opening up new ones, 4 is enough. If I get unhappy I will sure(pun intended) give them a try. 7.95 for a limit is nice, do you know about quotes over the phone, neither E trade or Ameritrade are anything to brag about in that arena, not much of a credit for each trade and then you don't know how big your credit bank is.

thank you, jim
