Richard, Dines is fun to read, but perhaps a bit dangerous to follow. Hulbert recently rated his newsletter performance as "D" in both up and down markets. Risk rating was "very high". Gain since 8/87 has been a negative 9.8% for a negative Sharpe ratio (-1.03). Looks like he ranked 58th out of 59 newsletters in existence since pre-crash 1987. Still, subscriptions are only $195/year, and one could have been following the Professional Tape Reader (#59).
