Holly, I assumed your statement on the safety of birth control pills was negative because of your remarks on the negative aspects of nicotine patches. That is a simple misunderstanding, obviously.

I think each side on all the polarizing debates has clinical facts on their side. They are often manipulated. As far as you expressing your personal opinions, of course they are your own, and it is up to you. I'm more open about my personal opinions, as you know. But when you present a certain set of "facts" as the truth here, or challenge someone else's position as not factual when it is based on clinical "facts" with which you disagree, in a round-about way you are expressing an opinion.

I deliberately picked a url from the Catholics, and one which claims to be non-biased, and the third one is just diagrams, with brief explanations, of what actually happens in a partial birth abortion. I am not giving any opinion on which is more factual, but in reading around the web there is general agreement on 3-4,000 partial birth abortions a year.

I have no medical knowledge about D&C's. My take on it, remembering conversations from the 1950's, is that doctors sometimes performed abortions for debatable medical reasons, calling them D&C's to make the procedures legal. The partial birth abortions are something different entirely--D&X's--dilate and extract.

Okay, I know I should stop now, but I am dying to know what you are talking about in terms of AIDS/HIV!!!
