CCleaner presets (4) — Other settings, final notes

— System restore can be a real space hog. It can easily be trimmed to minimal size using Tools>System Restore. CCleaner won't let you delete the last, most recent Restore. You may keep more, as you wish
— Registry cleaning is pretty safe. It's especially useful after upgrades and Windows updates. I created a folder called Registry Backups, and ALWAYS back up any changes. After your first backup and save to your newly-created folder, CCleaner will automatically place your new backups in that folder.
— New users may find they have HUGE volumes of cookies, etc. It may take a while for CCleaner to remove them all. Regular CCleaner users will find the process takes only seconds.

There's more about CCleaner, but this will get you started. Once it's set up, these are the quick steps I use every day --

1 — On my desktop, CCleaner is on the taskbar. Click the icon, and open CCleaner.
2 — First, go to Options>Cookies. Select one cookie from the list on the LEFT, and press Ctrl-A (select all). Delete them all. For safety, remember to export "Cookies to keep" to a text file, in case you accidentally delete them. CCleaner can always restore them from that .txt file. You won't have to rebuild the list.
3 — Then go to Cleaner, and click the "Run Cleaner" button, lower right.

THAT'S IT. Done. It takes seconds, maybe a minute, max. Once everything's set up, it's very fast.

Note that this is the FREE version of CCleaner. In the free version, there are more features -- but that's another discussion.
