If you're criticizing the wacky concept of edge computing, then I agree with you completely - but I think it's the service providers who will be responsible for not fulfilling their agreement rather than the network operators. Moving processing power from phones to the network creates unnecessary traffic and makes the end service too unreliable. There's a reason we moved from the 1980s model of supercomputers tied to dumb terminals, to a new model where everyone has their own computer.
