Rod - Novell's response: ----------cut-------------- Microsoft: We will not support customers running NDS for NT. Novell: We will gladly support the customer where Microsoft says they will not. We will especially support the one .DLL that we have enhanced, the SAMSRV.DLL, which allows NT Server and NT Server applications to take advantage of NDS. We will also try to answer any questions we can about the SAMLIB.DLL, which we have not altered at all. As to any security related concerns, we have wrapped NDS security around the domain information and left NT's security model untouched. Novell and Microsoft have discussed technical training to provide Microsoft the information they need to support NT Server running NDS for NT. Novell support has extended an open invitation to Microsoft for the necessary NDS for NT support training and we will send someone to work with them provided the opportunity. -----------cut-------------- novell.com

Although MSFT will likely lose the browser war, if they don't want NDS to work, NDS won't work. They've played games with their code in the past, and can probably pull it off forever. Can you imagine the court appointed specialist team, pouring over millions of lines of code. They'ed never find it. Can they order MSFT to make it work? That's the only hope IMO, and by the time the final decision arrives, Novell is burnt toast. Other than publishing rebuttals on their web site, does anyone really think Novell has this kind of fight in them? Does anyone think we'll see Novell on the newswires regarding this or Novonyx. John Young and company against Bill Gates. C'mon. Kinda looking like there might be no official statement on Novonyx. Didn't I read the "folding" of Novonyx occurred on Jan 5? sf
