A numer of the NASDAQ stocks with large short interests get a little star next to them indicating "Possibly engaged in arbitrage". Can someone shed some light on this and how it might influence trading in a stock? I have a hard time believing that some of these stocks actually have 40% of their float in "real" shorts. Are these arbitrage positions possible contributors to (often overly-anticipated ) short squeezes?

Good posts on the options MM, Bob. Thanks.
