Exactly, 99% of the time cops are RESPONDERS to crimes.
Only ocassionally are they present during commission of a crime.

I put up cameras but that only gives you a history.

I'm currently sleeping better after I installed several what used to be called "driveway alarms".

harborfreight.com

I use a better model I got off ebay that allows you to connect up to 50? sensors to one base unit. No configuration, just power up all the sensors then turn on the base unit. The base unit goes out and finds all the sensors. The model I have also allows you to have several base units scattered around the house. You can set the loudness of the alarm and it has a strobe also.

Sometimes a deer or the wind blowing wakes me up, but I check the cameras and go back to sleep.

The one I use is the 1byone model. Buy however many sensors and base units you need.

One of many listings:
ebay.com

(I have no interest in this, I prefer the "1byone" model that allows many sensors to one base unit)
