For now you can make money whether you are short or long trading. I can call my broker
to buy 4000 shares of CPQ at $57 and set a selling price of $57.75 right away and make a
profit of three quarters in maybe just one hour. Or call my broker to short 4000 shares of CPQ at $59 and at the same time place a cover order at $58.25, and make a profit of
$.75 in one hour. The secret is do no hold the stock more than two hours.

I'm certainly not going to argue with you regarding the charts. Anyone can see that CPQ has been in a bearish mode since Oct. In fact, I don't need a chart to let you know everything that has happened to this stock since then.

Problem is when I started buying options on CPQ BACK in Oct. the charts looked great and your argument today would not have held an ounce of water at that time.

It boils down to this.....I'm betting it goes up from here because it's been knocked down far enough for long enough. You're betting it won't for the same reason.
