Will Microsoft's window98 be in the market on time (in the second
half of '98)? I think it primarily depends upon the DOJ's final
decision on whether or not Explore can be part of window98's os.
Netscape has been suffering market share's eroding and its stock price
has been plunged to all time low. If DOJ sympathizes Netscape's
current condition, then probably Microsoft won't be able to deliver
window98 on time since the software has to be overhauled by removing
Explore from os, which unfortunately is window98's major improvement
compared to window95's.

If window98 cannot be delivered on time, pc sales will be heavily
impacted, namely, Dell, CPQ, whose sales volume will not be able to meet expectations. This will be an excellent opportunity for Apple to
sell more units since Apple welcomes Explore as its default browser.
Therefore, who will win the game in '98 is unpredictable. At least,
Apple has been in the black, and is going to cut additional $13M cost
in Q2. I become more optimistic for Apple's Q2 outcomes when the
Microsoft/DOJ battle is factored into the entire scenario. And, Mr. Ries, the only person with negative estimates, will eat his heart out.
