Exactly. Maybe rigidity, dogmatism, and ideological thinking is structural in humans and the flexibility and adaptability we all wish people would engage in is something people have to stretch into from their more inflexible natures. Or maybe younger people are more pliable and older people more rigid. Not really sure, but it does seem that technology has acted to destroy adaptability and flexibility, rather than empower it.
