HOW A CHINESE TECH FIRM BECAME THE NSA'S SURVEILLANCE NIGHTMARE

>>>For that reason, as the latest Snowden revelations showed last week, the spy agency reportedly hacked Huawei as part of an operation launched in 2007. The plan involved stealing source code for some of Huawei's products in the hope of finding vulnerabilities. Such security holes could allow the NSA to exploit the products and spy on traffic in countries where Huawei equipment is used – such as Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Kenya, and Cuba.

“Many of our targets communicate over Huawei-produced products,” an internal NSA document obtained by Snowden noted in 2010, according to the New York Times. “We want to make sure that we know how to exploit these products ... to gain access to networks of interest” around the world.<<<

the french chose to join the 5-eyes in boycotting huawei, a bad move, because am guessing that the french has sold and built its first and last nuke reactor in china and shall face an export competition

the same reactor is being built in the uk but financed by china, and should 5-eyes uk decide to join the rest of the boyz against huawei, likely shall have to look for alternative financing, in which case the yellow vests would gather new following in france, and spread across the channel to UK

this is what civilization-state continental economies would do to nation-state economies as a by the way

it would just be many coincidences and unconnected happenings

just a guess. so, we should not fret, for the civilised world is not defenceless.

A new type of nuclear reactor has been put into commercial operation in the southern Chinese province of Guangdong by a China-France joint venture company.

French energy giant EDF entered into a joint venture with Chinese state-run firms years ago. On Friday, representatives of the joint venture company announced that the No.1 reactor at the Taishan power station had started operating. They said the European Pressurized Reactor, or EPR, is being used at the site.

The representatives added that this is the first time the EPR has been used anywhere in the world.

China's state-run Xinhua news agency reports that the nuclear plant can generate 1.75 million kilowatts, which is more than any other single-reactor facility in the world.

Xinhua praised the plant's launch and described it as a significant achievement in the field of energy for the two countries.

After the accident at Japan's Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant in 2011, China temporarily suspended the process of approving the construction of new nuclear power plants. However, the country is now actively promoting nuclear power generation, while some other countries are moving away from nuclear power.

At the moment, China is building more nuclear power plants than any other country in the world. In September, a nuclear power plant that uses technology developed in the US started operating in the eastern province of Zhejiang.
