A princely sum...

CEO Jenkins bought 3411 shares on the open market. Some predictable repsonses from the usual suspects have been "So what?"

But if you measure a 3,400 share purchase against the yardstick of compensation, it looks big. Jenkins does not make very much money. That is indeed a large share purchase for somebody of his means.

Why the odd lot? Looks like the kind of purchase somebody makes where they have scraped up every discretionary dollar they had and threw it at a stock without regard to nice even numbers.

FYI

As a technical recruiter in "Silicon Valley" I have started to see requests for programmers and engineers who are able to work on the year 2000 problem. Some of the job orders call for Cobol programmers (with mention of doing Year 2000 solutions) and some are calling for "embedded software" engineers (without any mention of Year 2000, but I suspect it is!) Just thought I'd pass this on....
