To all-
I'm wondering if it's common practice of TA advocates to check the fundamentals and the trends of the industry group and it's leaders in conjunction with your TA. EVI looks like a buy to me (TA toddler) right now on the chart but if SLB and HAL get smacked, watch out. Conversely, if HAL and SLB take off, EVI will blow through that 200 EMA. The analysts love EVI. I think it was in Nov or early Dec that news came out that one of the major oil svc co's leased a rig for below market rates, this seemed to put a temporary nail in the group's coffin. With setups like that, pros will short any rallies. I work at a trading firm, and have these principles shown to me constantly. Paying attention to these things has helped my daytrading. I assume it applies to LT investing. Do you analyze w/or w/o the whole picture? If w/o, have you had success? Curious.
