mary, i bet i can work her problem with a post.
have her post the problem.is she a first time pc buyer.?????
also, in june cpq was already paying the vendor to set her pc up for free.
and subsidizing a tutorial program. in addition to free setup for 60 bucks she could get 2 hrs of instructions at her house. if she is new to pcs then it's worth the instruction.

Mary, I'm sorry if I sounded harsh, I didn't mean to. I spent a lot of time on line before I bought my last computer researching message boards that have complaints about computers. Some of it was on AOL, some of it on the net. I don't have any of the urls anymore. I found that virtually every company had horror stories about customer service. I personally had a problem of sorts with DELL, PB & somewhat with HWP. I don't own a CPQ so don't know personally. PB (although I'd never own one again) is getting much better in customer service at least in friendless and willingness to help for no pay over the phone.

I guess I just thought your posting on a stock board was inappropriate because you need to talk to other people who own the computer and can share their experiences with you. On a stock board you will get people rooting for one side or the other (long vs short) and not very much help with your problem. Did you try e-mailing on CPQs site? Try newsgroups for message on customer service. Hope your friend gets problem resolved soon. :-)
