Agraff, I do not short stock, and frankly I do not recommend shorting myself. If you want to benefit from a fall, you may want to take a position in BEARX, they are a hedge fund (there is a new thread on SI on BREAX). If you want to do yor own selection, it might be better to buy puts with the amount of money you were willing to risk on short positions.

In such a case, the March puts (maybe a little out of the money) of some high flyers such as VTSS, CSCO would be high risk high potential. Lower risk but lower potential would be stock that are already broken such as COMS (not ASND because of a potential buy out), AMAT, NVLS and KLAC might be interesting. I would also chose some of the brokers such as Merryl and DLJ. Citicorp has a potential write offs from the rim coming in as well. You may want to visit Roger's short thread, they specialize in this business.
