Chandler-
Thanks for your response. As I said to Richard, the more I consider this, time frame seems to be a key here. I used to chart the sector indexes often, but would get the wrong signals, like "seeing" a recovery in the FPP a month or so ago, trading WY on the long side, then someone in my office pointing out the poor fundamentals, I promptly lost on the trade (granted I could've managed the trade poorly anyway). Where do you get the 55,13,3 stoch from, is it a well known standard or did you develop it? I'm trying to learn more about TA and I just received metastock and would like to experiment with the MACD crossover time periods to try to catch a move earlier as my quotes plus MACD standard often crosses over after the move. Have you or anyone messed with this?
-Alex

Richard, Chan and other TA vets..in regards to "pure TA", as in only watching charts, Larry Williams in a "TA of Stocks and Commodities" magazine interview in July 97, calls himself a contextual trader, and says "The good thing is, clearly, technical analysis works, but the bad thing is, clearly, it doesn't work very often."

I am interested in comments from you guys that have braved a few bear markets as well as bulls. Also what is the precentage of your system successes? (ie make money for you!)

Tyring to find my place in the TA world before all my stocks become "forced long"... <g>

Thanks kindly,
