Facts are troubling things.

Nah, you got that wrong, John. "Facts are stupid things"- Dan Quayle, well known flaming liberal.

Cheers, Dan.

Leftist thought always has been and always will be at war with reason and the facts of
life.

This is true of any extreme thinking, from either the Left or Right. So what's your point?

>>>Leftist thought always has been and always will be at war with reason and the facts of life.<<<

I wonder about this. The people you don't seem to understand (engineers) are mostly right wing, if you don't know. Just honest bill-of-rights conservatives, in the main, which is a real small subset of the right wing.

Meanwhile, the company you love best, and the right wing in congress, are the new best friends of Chinese-style communism. Having abandoned Taiwan to the wolves.

MSFTs antagonists seem to want the return of capitalist competition into the Windows market, and MSFT supporters seem to want anything but true competition.

If you were to consider just the grounds for this debate, you would have to say that the people you call liberals are actually acting as traditional conservatives. The MSFT supporters are often taking an Anarchist or Libertarian stance, neither of which can be ascribed to either right or left. Perhaps a few could be described as feudalists, with a hankering for the return of provincial strongmen as final and autonomous authorities.

Chaz

Dear John:

I thank you for the substantive post and find the presence of another reasonable person consoling.

As an example of an appropriate post to those who use this forum as a wailing wall I offer the following URL:
members.magnet.at
as an example of the fact that the complainers on this board really do have a choice.

You see it is one thing to invest in a company but it is another to choose a product that will give you the choice that all the whiners long for. I will say that the above post is the kind of substantive matter that this forum should be considering. Whiners unite and start your own thread!

Thanks again for the encouragement John!

Regards,

John Dowd
